Fr. Vikesh Joseph SDB, a native of Trichy and a member of the Salesian Province of Chennai (INM), currently serves as Prefect of Studies, Formator, and Liturgical Animator at Don Bosco Prenovitiate in Dindigul.
He began his educational journey at Zion Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Tambaram. He then joined the minor seminary at Don Bosco Aspirantate, Tirupattur.
Fr. Vikesh holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Vishwa Jyoti College, Telangana, where he received a prestigious Gold Medal for academic excellence. He earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English Literature from Kakatiya University, Warangal, and Loyola College, Chennai, respectively. He pursued theological studies at Don Bosco Theological Centre, Kavarapettai.
During his post-graduate studies at Loyola College, Fr. Vikesh was an active member of the Jesus Youth movement, deepening his spiritual roots and fostering a passion for evangelization. He has also participated in intensive courses on Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Direction.
As part of his Salesian formation, Fr. Vikesh Joseph completed his novitiate at Idaya Deepam Novitiate in Yellagiri, where he discerned his calling and deepened his commitment to the Lord. He received his First Profession on 24 May 2013, marking an important milestone in his spiritual journey.
The culmination of his formation journey was his Priestly Ordination on 27 December 2023, graciously conferred by Most Rev. George Antonysamy, the Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore. Fr. Vikesh chose as his priestly ordination motto: "Let it be done to me according to your will" (Lk 1:38), reflecting his commitment to surrendering to God's will and serving with humility following the footsteps of Blessed Virgin Mary.
A prolific writer, Fr. Vikesh Joseph sdb has authored two Tamil books: "1000 Praises" and "Taste & See" (a book on the Eucharist). He contributes articles to various magazines and is a sought-after retreat animator, conducting charismatic retreats in English and Tamil for both religious and lay individuals.
Fr. Vikesh Joseph is passionate about preaching God's Word, and his inspiring messages have touched the hearts of countless people, bringing them closer to the Divine.
